About Bright Angel Lodge and Cabins

My friends and I are returning in October for our second annual hike down to Phantom Ranch. Last year, when we reached Bright Angel, we were so exhilarated and so exhausted. We wanted some ice cream, a cold drink and to sit and bask in our success and exhaustion just a bit. However, to stand in the crazy lines for ice cream or at the restaurant were just out of the question.

We wanted to sit! Even make reservations ahead of time. Appreciate any ideas and suggestions! Response from comocove Reviewed this property. I hope the crowds are kinder to you this time. We were there at the begining of June, and had no trouble at all with dining. The Harvey house was easy, and tasty. If you were on your way up the If you were on your way up the angel bright trail, and went left on the rim trail, it isn't very far.

July is brutally hot in the canyon. Many people do hike the canyon during this time, but they are very prepared and understand how to survive in an inhospitable desert environment. How long has it taken you to hike trails with similar specs in the past? Some people do it in under 6 hours, some take closer The smart ones spend as many days as possible in the canyon. Hiking poles are highly recommended in the canyon. Good, worn-in shoes are necessary. Salty foods are a life-saver. Hat, sunscreen, long sleeves, and sunglasses are important.
